Hone Winder-Murray, proudly hailing from Te Rereatukāhia Marae, has embraced the position of Pou Mātauranga Māori - Māori Lead upon his return home from the Far North.
With a diverse background, Hone has recently been immersed in Māori media, showcasing his talents in producing and directing livestream broadcasts. However, his journey also encompasses a passion for environmental conservation, backed by his qualifications in the field.
Hone's appointment to this crucial role was the culmination of a thorough selection process, overseen by a panel of hapū representatives from Northern Tauranga Moana. Tasked with the vital responsibility of fostering and nurturing relationships with local hapū, Hone also spearheads the integration of cultural elements into the museum's operations.
In his capacity, Hone serves as a catalyst for the museum's growth and development, ensuring alignment with Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and obligations.
